I have been theorycrafting, writing guides, and streaming for Hunters since 2014, as well as playing the game on a high level, with hundreds of rank 1 parses and dozens of World #1 Mythic+ runs on all 3 Hunter specs over the game's history. I'm Azortharion, hailing from the cold north of Denmark. Due to its popularity, the challenge has been converted into a timewalking feature. The Mage Tower Challenge is a returning feature, being first released during the Legion expansion. In this guide, we'll cover optimal talents, consumables, and Marksmanship Hunter specific tips for you to beat this solo challenge. It doesn't take too many shots to kill a scrake (10 shots for RRLR build) and has a freeze nade and crossbow that can be used to stun scrake and fleshpound.Learn how to defeat the Legion Timewalking Mage Tower Challenge encounter, Raest Magespear, as a Marksmanship Hunter. I agree with railgun being the superior and OP weapon but M14 SS is a viable build and is just as strong as gunslinger. Originally posted by Misteak:Sharpshooter is my favorite perk but it also has some of my least favorite choices available for its talents. These are just some things off the top of my head, after playing sharp for so long. The M99 however had massive power, but the ammo was expensive as heck. ![]() To compare that point, KF1 had a strong crossbow to get earlier on, but the ammo had to be used wisely, and if I remember it wasn't too cheap but could be afforded. Railgun has cheap ammo (for some reason), can be easy to save up for, and has a freaking auto-aim for Heaven's sake to take out medium zeds easier. What's the point? That's so inferior to the railgun in everyway. What can be even worse is how it takes 4 crossbow shots to kill a scrake with ALL damage talents selected on max difficulty. Sure, taking rack em up helps to one shot scrakes, but, that goes against its real purpose: firing fast into heads and getting damage bonuses for repeated headshots, which you can only do with half of sharp's weapons (disregarding multi-perk). In relation to gunslinger about rack em up, rack em up is really geared better for the gunslinger. Sharp shouldn't need that ammo talent either because sharp's guns should have significant damage or stun power by default. Demo can dish out damage easier than sharp with his weapons, and the weapons on sharp that require good aim also require the previously mentioned hinderances. Heck, the first talent you can unlock boosts damage in general by ANOTHER 25%. In comparison, demo gets HUUGE damage bonuses without needing these hinderances. It takes way too many m14 shots to kill a scrake without taking the standing still and crouching talents, which really hinders the gameplay for the perk. I want to use the M14 and Crossbow, but they are just so outclassed and not needed for the team by a sharp, because of how heavy the stun powers were nerfed. I agree, it's always "Railgun this, Railgun that". This should also be a passive because it grants a bonus for aiming, which again is one of the main points of sharp (although hip-firing with the m14 is a go to thing, so this perk talent might actually just suck). The crossbow doesn't always stun on the first hit, and I think it depends on the damage output you have (by getting more rack em up, heard that's how stuns work somewhere on an older thread).ĭead Eye - Such a tiny boost, very insignificant for the sharpshooter. ![]() The stun on the m14 right now is pathetic and makes it incredibly hard for players to use. Sharpshooter is my favorite perk but it also has some of my least favorite choices available for its talents.īallistic Stun - This in my opinion should be a passive. Ranger does mostly not trigger on fleshpounds. M14 should always, no matter the skills, onnehit clots. ![]() The left tree skills were even bad for the railgun if you wouldn't need to stack them to ohko scrakes. I honestly don't get why everyone loves it on sharp, imo it handles awful.ĭual 9 mms are probably better then all the other options. You need to get every damage perk in order to be more (!) efficient then the other large zed killers, even if this is your main job, and are left with the worst possible skills for your whole loadout.ĭoesn't really benefit from rack em up because of small mag and slow reload. The problem at this point should be obvious. This could be a lever or a magnum + any onperk pistol. This allows you to oneshot scrakes and that's pretty much it. On hoe you are forced to go all left skill tree except for zed time skill which doesn't matter at all, and buy a railgun. ![]() Sharpshooter is fun to play up to suicidal. I've got to say that I actually like the perk concept but not how it's fleshed out.
